We landed on Rustic Beige by DuraSeal (oil-based, one coat) because it brought out the natural warmth in the wood, but it also had a touch of gray. That gray undertone keeps things neutral and helps prevent the yellowing that naturally happens with white oak over time.

It’s been nearly two years now, and our floors have warmed just a bit—as we were told they would. But thanks to that gray tone in the stain, there are zero yellow undertones. We’re still obsessed.
