We Ordered Our Entire RTA Outdoor Kitchen Online!—The Full Review

Have you ever dreamed of a beautiful backyard setup where you could grill, cook, host, and just be outside more? That was me. And we finally made it happen, with an RTA outdoor kitchen, ordered entirely online!

Why We Wanted an Outdoor Kitchen

I’ve always loved cooking for friends and family, it’s truly one of my love languages. But in our last home, turning on the stove in summer basically turned the house into a sauna. Not to mention, some foods (hello, fish and splatter-prone meals) are just better cooked outside.

So once we moved into our new home, one of the first things we prioritized was creating an outdoor kitchen. But… planning one from scratch? Kind of a headache. Appliances, countertops, layout, hiring multiple contractors, my brain was already tired.

Discovering RTA Outdoor Kitchens (And Why It Felt Too Good to Be True)

My husband stumbled across RTA Outdoor Living while researching prefab outdoor kitchens, and it seemed like the answer to everything. We used their online kitchen design tool to dream up a custom corner kitchen with all the outdoor appliances we thought we needed.

Shortly after, a lovely designer from their team reached out to refine everything with us. Over the next few weeks, she helped us:

  • Finalize exact measurements for our space
  • Choose the base and countertop materials (more on that below!)
  • Decide on appliance sizing and placement
  • Ensure everything worked together seamlessly

Choosing Our Outdoor Kitchen Finishes

She even shipped us samples—actual samples!—so we could touch, feel, and hold up materials in our outdoor space. I was torn between two base options but finally picked Modern Bright Concrete. And the second I saw the Alpha White countertop, I knew it was the one. (Crisp, clean, timeless. Done.)

What We Chose for Our RTA Outdoor Kitchen

With the designer’s help, we settled on:

  • 36” Coyote Grill
  • 30” Coyote Flat Top Griddle
  • Alpha Moderno 2 Pizza Oven in Anthracite Grey
  • Double access doors under both the grill and griddle
  • Trash drawer and a three-drawer column for utensils and supplies

Honestly, having someone knowledgeable walk us through it made all the difference.

Installation Was Shockingly Easy

Although RTA includes everything you need to DIY your outdoor kitchen, we decided to hire one of their local installers. They connected us with a guy (and his nephew) who had it fully assembled in less than a day.

We had already planned for gas and electrical hookups during our home build, so connecting the grill and pizza oven was simple. (If you don’t have that in place yet, you’ll need to coordinate a licensed contractor to do the hook-ups.)

The Optional Custom Cover: Totally Worth It

When we placed our order, there was an option to add a custom-fit cover. I clicked yes, and I’m so glad I did. It fits like a glove and protects everything from dust, dirt, and the weather. It’s a small add-on that delivers big peace of mind.

Would We Do It Again?

A resounding yes. Not only did we get a fully custom RTA outdoor kitchen that fits our space perfectly, but we got expert guidance without juggling a million contractors. The pricing felt fair, especially considering the support, materials, and convenience.

If you’re dreaming of an outdoor cooking space and want a smoother, more streamlined experience—I genuinely recommend checking out RTA Outdoor Kitchens.

Happy grilling, my friend!
